Windows 10 ESU Year 2 coverage ends on October 12, 2027. Organizations that still have Windows 10 devices in use after that date will need Year 3 ESU coverage to continue receiving critical security updates.

• Coverage gap risk – ESU enrollment does not auto-renew. A missed Year 3 purchase means unpatched, unsupported devices starting October 13, 2027.
• Final year of ESU – Year 3 is the last Windows 10 ESU coverage Microsoft offers. There is no Year 4. Devices still on Windows 10 after October 2028 will have no paid path to further security updates.
• Year 1 and Year 2 are prerequisites – You cannot purchase Year 3 ESU without existing Year 1 and Year 2 licenses on the same device. There's no way to skip ahead.
• Same devices, same edition – Year 3 covers the same Windows 10 Pro and Enterprise devices (version 22H2) that were eligible for Year 1 and Year 2.
