Businesses often license Microsoft Office through the cloud, which requires a bit of groundwork to get going. Although it may seem daunting at first, you will soon realize that managing licensing is actually a lot simpler than it looks. Follow this quick guide from Microsoft Silver partner Trusted Tech Team, and you will be up and running with your new Office software in no time.
You have probably seen this screen countless times – go ahead and sign in with your administrative account (or create one if you have not already).
Once you have reached the landing page you will be greeted with a kind message and a couple of places to access your admin portal – either by the grid icon in the top-left corner or listed under your apps.
Great! Next we are going to find the user you are looking to assign the license to and do just that. Click on “Active users”.
Perfect! You will see a list of all of the active users in your organization, you can scroll through or use the search bar near the top to find whoever needs a license. Click on the checkbox next to their display name(s).
Protip: You can select multiple users at a time if they all need the same software license.
Awesome. You will now see a panel slide in from the right – click on “Edit” next to “Product licenses”.
Almost there! Select the country and license for the software that the user needs, and click “Save”.
Woohoo! They are now licensed and ready to go. You can close down the confirmation window.
You can tell the user(s) to sign in to their account and install away.
